Chief Executive Officer
Customer obsessed business builder, product innovator, organization coach. Praerit Garg — PG to most — has spent much of his career at the center of identity, access, and cloud platforms. He and his family have called Seattle home for three decades; he joined Microsoft in 1995 after leaving a Purdue PhD program to work on the Windows NT Security team, helping design core components such as Active Directory, Kerberos, PKI, EFS, permissions, and Group Policy. He later led identity, directory, and access services at AWS and served on the board of Radiant Logic.
Before becoming the CEO of One Identity, PG spent six years at Smartsheet, where he guided multi-year product and platform evolution: from data center to cloud-native, multi-region scale, DevOps/CI/CD, a shift to customer-outcomes product innovation, the introduction of AI-first experiences, and a modernization of pricing and packaging to align to customer ROI. During this period, Smartsheet grew from sub-$200M to $1.2B in revenue and completed an $8.4B private-equity transaction.
Today at One Identity, PG brings a people-first, systems-driven approach: set a clear playbook, move with speed, and make progress visible. What he’s known for — and what he can do — is build enduring products, scale teams and leaders, and translate complex problems into reliable, enterprise-grade products that customers trust.
PG believes technology should serve people. His north star is simple: deliver dependable, easy to use capabilities, learn fast with customers and partners, and win together.
